Magazine Madness: Goodbye Green, Hello Blonde in Billie Eilish’s Ocean Eyes

VOGUE UK JUNE 2021

Boundary-breaking musician, high priestess of Generation Z, Grammy Awards winner and Youngest Artist of 2021—Billie Eilish’s depth, intelligence, humour and elegance glows on the cover of VOGUE UK June 2021 issue. Being intrigued by her airy voice and ocean eyes in autumn 2019, ‘You Should See Me in A Crown’ and ‘Hostage’ are among my favourites; her preppy, baggy and slightly sloppy street wear style work unconditionally perfect with Chanel accessories. This March BILLIE EILISH transformed her greenish hair into blonde, the million ‘likes’ on Instagram was immediate, while the VOGUE UK photo shoots were nearly imminent, still, styling by Dena Giannini, Billie collaborated closely together from Gucci to Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana to Alexander McQueen, on a series of custom looks. Striking several poses within handmade satin buster dress or lace layer top, this 19-year-old avatar of social media mega-fame speaks up about her frustration at music industry, her positivity toward body consciousness and the new technique of her upcoming album.

Once declared her proudest part of her body are her boots at interview, Billie Eilish confronts with Laura Snapes in June 2021 issue that her body was the initial reason for her depression when the situation went worsen when she quit dancing at age of 13 due to injury (147). While demostrating all the savoir faire of the exquisite body corsets in nude shades, her plump silhouette with Marilyn Monroe blonde hair transmit a sexy teasing feminine attitude. As if she announces her maturity by lurking our visual pleasures on VOGUE UK June 2021 issue, Billie Eilish notes more than twice during the interview, that “It’s all about what makes you feel good” (144). Indeed, I especially in love with Billie reveals her skin and flesh with mesh cat suit, satin corset and sheer slingback shoes under MUGLER, surprisingly discover that on her right upper-thigh tattooed pure black, perhaps an ancient dragon. Billie Eilish does not explain the stories behind the tattoo, hence she indicates that “Don’t make me not a role model because you’re turned on by me” (147).

For the photography, since June 2021 issue tones are light pink, bleach gold and nude purple, I adapt CHANEL Le Vernis #491 Rose Confidentiel, #542 Pink rubber and #599 Provocation to match the major hue, which, are also my seasonal picks on my toes. Chanel Rouge Allure #117 Or Cuivré owns medium dark plum with a luminous finish, surely a catchy enhance tighter with the magazine cover. Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres #192 Prune Noire balances the lower part of the magazine, while the Les Beiges brush and le Vernis square caps are the best to expand the abstract vision of the flat lay photography. In order to cover the price sticker, Chanel camellia in size large is always the best, and the Damascus rose buds decorate the photography object gracefully. Last but not the least, add up a pair of Chanel Baroque style of earrings and CHAO&EERO 18K fresh water pearl rings are essentials for the fun of photography.
