Q&A in Helsinki
Debrief the reason on the purchase of No°5 Eau Premiére.
Eau Premiére is the new version of
the world-renowned Chanel No°5, which is lighter,
fresher, softer, more delicate, and suitable for every-day use. I purchase it
due to Chanel freebie giveaway at SOKOS, therefore a bottle of perfume is
accompanied with a mini pochette, inside a 2ml mascara, 1,3ml Les Beiges
foundation, and a 2ml No°5 Eau Premiére trial tube.
How does the fragrance give out the emotional notes?
This seductive fragrance was adapted from the original
Chanel N°5 by Perfumer Jacques Polge, the top notes including Aldenhydes, neroli
and ylang-ylang, while the middle are jasmine and rose, and the base notes
vetyver, sandalwood and vanilla. The opening reminds me of those retro lemon
sherbet sweeties, fizzy and powdery. Thirty minutes later it has settled into a
smooth almost cool, creamy powder floral vanilla, an echo of the original Chanel No°5.
✔I am always a fashion
publication mania. During Chinese New Year holidays in Taipei, I immediately
purchased The Secret of Chanel No°5 by Tilar J. Mazzeo. The story of the iconic scent extends from Coco Chanel’s early success to the
rise of ‘le monstre’ (nickname of No°5 in the
fragrance industry) during the 1950s to the confirmation of its bestseller
status in today’s competitive perfume market. The binding of the book adapts
black and white the monotone, an embossed of Chanel No°5 bottle
places on the centre of the cover.
✔Chanel Le
Vernis Longwear #18 Rouge Noir, a souvenir from my hubby in Rome, protects
the health of the nails and bioceramics, which is strengthener that prevent
chips and fully opaque in single coat. Rouge Noir has a very glossy jelly and
can be easily worn without a topcoat, but more or less it affects its
longevity. Chanel Le Vernis has lovely packaging and iconic bottle, and the
purple tone of the nail polish can lighten up the sweet touch of the photo.
✔Chanel Camellia flower is
always the best giveaway together with the Chanel packaging, which are also
very elegant photo gimmick. Some say Coco Chanel’s love of oriental bloom was
inspired by memories of when young dandies wore them pinned to the lapels of
their suits, or perhaps it was a reference to Alexandre Dumas’s novel, La Dame aux Caméllias. Displaying one or
two Camellia next to the objects conveys the connection between the Chanel No°5
and its origin, completing the whole le look of the composition.
