Magazine Madness: Vogue UK May 2016—Kate Moss, Like a Rolling Stone

VOGUE UK May 2016

Again Kate Moss being the cover girl in VOGUE UK May 2016 issue, following June 2013, December 2013 and December 2014. This is, perhaps, the 25th cover I have owned of Kate, and without doubts the collection will be continued.
As a new Rolling Stones exhibition “Exhibitionism” opens at Saatchi Gallery in London until 4 of September, Kate Moss, without any questions, is the perfect icon to style a shoot using the greatest rock performers’ incredible collection of stage costumes. For Moss, it didn’t take a huge leap of the imagination to envisage the epitome of rock-chick style working with vintage pieces. The original plan was for her to style another model in those stage customes, but thankfully, it was very clear that those nostalgic glitter-fest of jumpsuits, sequins and velvet, could easily have come straight from Kate’s own walk-in wardrobe. Together with the Rolling Stones insider Bella Freud’s memoir, (her husband, James Fox, is the co-author of Keith Richards’ autobiography, Life.), we readers are able to know those backstage gossips, and take a glimpse of that Kate Moss flies the Britannia-flag cape designed by Chrissie Walsh and worn by Mick Jagger during the band’s European Tour of June 1982, or Moss comes elegantly undone in a laced and studded jumpsuit by Ossie Clark. Bella Freud points out that instead of wearing baggy things over his incredibly narrow, tiny hips, Mick Jagger ‘wore the tightest clothes, so all you could really look at was his cock’ (Freud, 141).
Perfectly, that slim Jagger’s outfit suits well on Great Britain model’s chic looks. At every page turn of Vogue May issue, over 14 fashion campaign pages, under photographer Craig McDean’s lenses, by using black and white, or a touch of Nashville flitter, Kate Moss represents 70’s glam rock atmosphere, as Mick Jagger and Keith Richards spent the summer recording Exile on Main St. at Villa Nellcôte of Côte d’Azur. The setting of the photo shooting is full of the half-full glasses, guitars, audio speakers and messy carpets. On page 136 shows 8 different poses and angles of Kate Moss wearing partners embellished hot pants with Mick’s Leo star-sign emblazoned tee, in front of neo-classic style of sofa, which proves that a supermodel doesn't need only evening gown to showcase her glamour, but a unique elegance with a thousand faces. Sparks will fly, and Rolling Stones gather no Moss.
